Installing your WiseDriving Device is quick and easy. When your device arrives in the post, it should come with an instructions leaflet, but we’ll also explain here in case you misplace it or need some extra help.
- Please make sure your windscreen is clean, dry and not tinted before you start. Use either a lint free cloth or kitchen towel to dry the area and ensure it is free of dust. If it’s a cold day, you should heat your windscreen first.
- Remove the plastic tag completely from your WiseDriving device. Don’t forget that you should only do this right before you’re about to install it.
- Gently peel off the 3M plastic film from the cradle on the back of your device. Do not remove the foam. Stick the windscreen cradle horizontally against the windscreen inside the car. Push the device firmly against the windscreen, applying pressure to the 4 corners for at least 20 seconds.
- You’re ready to go! Your device is solar powered, but on rare occasions it may need charging (we’ll let you know if that ever happens). If this happens, please don’t remove your device as the cradle is designed to break once the device has been removed. You can charge it with a type-C USB plugged into the 12v socket in your car. If your cable won’t reach, you can also use a power bank.
Once your device is installed, all you need to do is download the WiseDriving App, if you need help registering for the app click here.
After you’ve downloaded the app, you’re good to go! Though don’t forget, it may take up to 24 hours for your journeys to show in your app.
