When you make a claim, it goes onto your insurer to handle it. Your insurer will calculate the costs to repair your car as well as the value to the car, and make their own decision as to whether to write it off or not. They will also notify you if your car is going to be written-off: please note that this decision is out of our hands.
If your car is written-off, you do have the option to buy it off your insurer. Some insurers may even continue to offer you insurance if your car has been repaired and passes a post-repair MOT. If this is a step you wish to take, contact your insurer to find out if they are willing to provide insurance.
While in most cases the insurer will notify us of the write-off, please make sure we’re aware should you contact us regarding your policy.
