If you’re making a journey at night, it’s important to keep driving safely. Even though the roads tend to be clearer at night, you still need to drive with caution. Don’t be tempted to speed, accelerate quickly or put yourself in situations where you have to brake harshly. Although there may be less traffic on the roads, the dark conditions can make it harder to see, meaning you may come across unexpected hazards more easily. You’re also more likely to be tired when driving at night, which can reduce how alert you are. By continuing to drive safely, you can keep your speed, acceleration and braking scores up – even if you do have to drive late at night.
